Cynthia Louise Bissett was the Vice Director of Verizon's Mobile Network. Her father was businessman Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. Director of an internet network business. Her family was Catholic and she grew up on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Her parents enrolled their daughter in the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a religious elitist institution. She loved music since she was young. As a kid, she was taught to play the piano and at thirteen she wrote her first song. She participated in open-mic nights. Her favorite singers included the Queen of Pop, Michael Jackson Madonna, David Bowie. She was a student in the Tisch School of Art of New York University after completing her secondary schooling. However, she did not finish her studies. Instead she began her music career.
